After graduating from the Umeå Institute of Design, Gustav Hallen opened his own Stockholm based design studio, Hallen Design. Hallen follows a long tradition of Swedish furniture designers carrying on a proud Scandinavian heritage. Specialising in product design, Hallen says, “Our goal is to make "difficult products" as intuitive and attractive to use that you do not need the manual to get started.†One look at the Hallen catalogue of work and we see how successful he has been.
It is from this technical and practical mindset that we get such standout products as ‘Arrow Hanger, a 2009 Red Dot Design Award winner. When not being used, the Arrow Hanger adds visual interest to the wall like an iconic graphic symbol. Other stand out products from Gustav Hallen and Hallen Design Group include ‘Phonette,’ ‘T-Shirt,’ and ‘Zeta.’
